On January 27, 2011 Eric Merkley was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. An aggressive cancer that we hope and the doctors to this point seem confident that is contained to one spot on his leg. Prognosis is good. Treatments and recovery will be long and painful.

A Gift


This was Eric's personalized cookie, notice the mustache and this is the bell I got for him.  I received an email from Sonja, Steven mom, and she wrote that the reason why Eric cleared his methotrexrate so quickly was a gift from God.  I totally agree.  It was totally unexpected and he has never been that low at that point in the clearing stage.  We were truly grateful though.  Now it is Steven's turn to finish up and be able to get back to school.

Eric took it easy this weekend, still not feeling great and pretty weak, but it is only uphill from here!
