On January 27, 2011 Eric Merkley was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. An aggressive cancer that we hope and the doctors to this point seem confident that is contained to one spot on his leg. Prognosis is good. Treatments and recovery will be long and painful.

Utah Preps Magazine

Eric was interviewed by Utah Preps Magazine a little bit into his treatments and then again after surgery.  This was the article they published.

The first time he called, Eric was so so sick and could not even speak, because of the sores in his mouth.  Man that feels like it was years ago.  I am so glad it is behind him.
We are meeting with a new prosthetic company to get a second opinion today.  To say I am a little frusterated with Fit well is an understatement.  I am anxious to hear the new opinion.  I will keep you posted.
