On January 27, 2011 Eric Merkley was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. An aggressive cancer that we hope and the doctors to this point seem confident that is contained to one spot on his leg. Prognosis is good. Treatments and recovery will be long and painful.

Blanket

I apologize to all those wonderful people who have been thoughtful and provided amazing gifts of love and support, but I failed to recognize.  These wonderful gifts of love are very comforting.  Right before surgery, Eric was presented with this blanket from the primary in our ward.  All of the kids signed the blanket and the primary leaders put a lot of work into it by sewing it together.  As you can see, he is very cozy with all that love.

Well we are packing up and heading up to PMC for all the appointments this morning, and possibly admitting Eric for the next round of treatments.  We will keep you posted on what we learn and how Eric is doing.  Love to all of you!
